The fourth edition of the non-controversial Ghana Outstanding Women Awards (GOWA) will take place on Friday, October 1, 2021, according to organizers.
ASKOF Productions, coordinators of the honors which began in 2018 and is pointed toward remunerating ladies contributing monstrously to the advancement of Ghana, said the event will occur at the Accra Marriot Hotel.
Tasty Tom are feature patrons of the current year’s occasion which will see performances by skilled Nigerian artiste Adindu Victor, prominently known as AV. Additionally performing on the night is Ohemaa Woyeje with help from Jamaican artiste, K Genius.
The candidates were declared last month with TV3’s Berla Mundi shortlisted for the leader grant, Outstanding Woman of the Year, close by Nana Aba Anamoah, Gloria Sarfo, Deloris Frimpong Manso (Delay), Yaa Amoako Adu, Getrude Kunde Kwallinjam and Beatrice Mensah.
The ceremony will be graced by a number of important personalities including politicians, celebrities, queen mothers, radio and television presenters, and a section of the stakeholders in the creative industry among others.
Some of the queen mothers invited to grace the event include Nana Obiribea (Akuapem-Obosomase Gyaasehemaa), Ansaa Sasraku (Akuapem-Larteh Akwamuhene Ankobeahemaa), Nana Tiaah Ampem Darkoa (Akuapem Apirede-Mawerehemaa) and Mamaga Akua Sabea Nyabo VII (Paramount Queen – Akrofu, Volta).
The organisers announced MzGee as the official emcee for the event which will be streamed live on all the social media platforms.
The past three editions of the GOWA have seen the likes of Afia Pokua (2018), Velma Owusu Bempah (2019) and Delay (2020) winning the topmost award.
